It’s always a pleasure to meet industry experts and know about their business journey. There are so many things we can learn from their experiences, which is precisely why we will highlight the journey of Mr. Shrikant Singh – Director and Partner of Hawaban Harde Depot, Indore in today’s interview.

Over to Shrikant.
Ques 1. Hi Shrikant, tell us about yourself.
I would like to call myself as someone who is hard working, has high aspirations and big dreams. I love to read books, and I think books are the best mentor. I always believe that books are a great source of learning and thinking. I love to play lawn tennis and go for a swim.
Ques 2. Tell us about Hawaban Harde
Hawaban Harde Depot was established by my grandfather ( Late Shri Goverdhan Singh ) in the year 1942, with a vision of providing natural and safe medicines for better and healthy society through Ayurveda. After my grandfather, my uncle and father were looking after this business, now we have four partners managing this business. Me, my mother and my two cousins.
Though established as a renowned brand, every member of the company is still driven by his philosophy to make effective and great nutritional products.
Most of our products are also very tasty apart from its nutritional values and are liked by children also.
Ques 3. What excites you most about your industry?
We make Ayurvedic medicines and serve purely herbal products to the society. We believe that we are providing a healthy alternative for medicines to the society, as our products do not have any side effects.
Ques 4. Where do you see it heading in the future?
I wish to establish a few more strategic manufacturing units across India. We are already working in those lines.
We will have a dedicated Business unit for each assembly line that we establish. We plan to inaugurate a corporate office that shall monitor the day-day activities of all these units, centrally.
We aspire to be a household name across India, within the next 3 years before we venture in the international market.
Ques 5. Who inspires you?
- Shri Goverdhan Singh
- Shri Ratan Tata
Ques 6: What is one advice you still remember and that has practically changed your life?
Ques 7: What’s your daily routine? How do you maintain your work-life balance?
My daily routine has always been hectic. I work for almost 14-15 hours a day. Even in lockdown, manufacturing companies are still open, so I maintain work-life balance well. I also like to spend time with my family and friends. I must say I have a very strong and dedicated team who helps me to run the business efficiently.
Ques 8: As a businessman, what is it that motivates and drives you?
Hard work and betterment for society.
Ques 9: What do you put your success down to?
I think it’s having the ability to require several leaps ahead in your mind. It’s sort of a Rubiks cube – you see something and it’s all jumbled up – but you recognize there’s some clarity in there somewhere. And having the ability to visualise what may result from that clutter that creates the difference.
Ques 10: How do you generate new ideas?
New ideas get generated through the market trends. We also focus on the latest development that is going on in our field globally . As per those developments we seek feedback from our distributors as well as consumers. We make our future decisions best on these feedbacks.
